The Worl Boss has hit another big number—this time without releasing a record.
Vybz Kartel has crossed four million Instagram followers, becoming the first male dancehall artiste to reach the milestone and joining Shenseea and Spice as the only living Jamaican artistes at that level, according to the supplied figures.
The women still lead the pack. Shenseea commands 9.6 million followers, while Spice has 4.8 million, placing Kartel third among living Jamaican acts.
His nearest male challenger is a familiar name: former Portmore Empire protégé Popcaan, who has 3.3 million followers. Sean Paul follows with 2.7 million, ahead of Shaggy’s 2.3 million.
The figures put Kartel roughly 700,000 followers ahead of Popcaan, giving the deejay a sizeable lead among the men listed.
Follower counts fluctuate, but the milestone offers a snapshot of Kartel’s substantial online audience—and a reminder that dancehall’s competition for attention extends well beyond the recording booth.
