Dantay Brooks, son of entertainer Mavado, will have to go to court next week to get bail on the raft of charges he was hit with yesterday stemming from an alleged assault in Cassava Piece, St. Andrew.
Attorney at law Christian Tavares-Finson, who is reportedly representing one of Brook’s co-accused, said that he has not been ‘properly retained’ to represent Dantay Brooks.
A police source said that Brooks and two other co-accused reportedly assaulted a man known as ‘Hardy’. A gun was reportedly involved. The altercation was reportedly caused by a romantic attachment Hardy had formed with a girl close to the entertainer.
“Tavares-Finson did not turn up for the Q&A for Dantay Brooks so they just charged him straight he has to go to court to get bail. A gun was said to be involved. The victim claimed that Brooks had assaulted the man over a girl that had been involved with Mavado but then began a romantic attachment with ‘Hardy’,” the police source said.
