The 40-year-old vendor, from Marlborough district in Balaclava, St Elizabeth, was convicted of using audiovisual communication to promote violence after a controversial post connected to the general election.
According to police reports, on August 18, Skeen posted a video to TikTok declaring: “If we nuh win, we ago turn the world inna Haiti, pure big matic and rifle,” and “Me wi murder people fi me party.” The video quickly went viral, prompting widespread alarm and a police investigation.
Mother Love told his 93,000 followers on Tik Tok that his words were being misinterpreted and that the controversial statement was meant as a “cry for the less fortunate people on the island”, rather than a literal threat.
