Five people shot at Father’s Day event at Hartford, Connecticut

Reggae singer Nesbeth escaped serious injured during a mass shooting at a Father’s Day event in Hartford, Connecticut. During the incident, five people were injured in a shooting on Homestead Avenue in Hartford, police said. During the party, several shots were fired

“Mi pass one man pon the ground, just a step away from me. it was scary, I never experienced anything like that before, i have experienced chaos, but in this case, people were frightened and draw for their straps, and you’re running from danger into danger. When people are scared, anything at all can happen, mi see people ah jump some high fence, adrenaline and fear do that,” Nesbeth said.

According to police, the shooting happened around 10:24 p.m. Police responded to the area for multiple ShotSpotter and 911 calls. Nesbeth said at least 30 shots were fired at the annual event that attracted over 600 patrons.

“It was a bit dark and there were people who have knockings inna dem hand, confusion and chaos, people lay down pon the ground, girls ah run and scream, and mi see fright ah push people fi jump over high fence. Mi see people all ah do unthinkable things, dem run lef boot, lef dem jewellery, phone everything. Mi hide behind a garbage skip and ah watch everything unfold,” Nesbeth said.

At the scene, police said they found a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, who was taken to the hospital.

Authorities also said two women and three men were taken to the hospital for gunshot wounds in private cars.

All of the victims are in stable condition, according to police.

The shooting remains under investigation.
