Kemar McGregor links Rick Ross for ‘Loaded’ crossover, racks up 200,000 views with new video

Kemar McGregor has brought Rick Ross into his musical orbit with Loaded, a new collaboration that puts the Jamaican producer’s name alongside one of American rap’s most recognisable voices.

The single arrived on Friday, October 9, 2026. Amazon Music lists McGregor and Ross as the joint artistes, with a running time of two minutes and 59 seconds and a copyright credit to Kemar McGregor/Billboard King Records.

“The single is blowing up all over in the clubs, on social media and on radio. Over 200,000 people have already wanted it on YouTube, me and Rick Ross just got back from the club, we’re promoting the hell out of this song,” Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor told one876entertainment.com this morning.

For McGregor, the link-up fits a wider effort to connect Jamaican music with audiences beyond its established borders. His approach has included collaborations with American performers, placing his work before listeners who may first encounter it through another artiste’s catalogue.

That strategy was already evident in July, when he discussed his pursuit of hip-hop partnerships in an interview published by DancehallMag.

“We’re going directly to the buyers of music,” McGregor said at the time.

Those remarks concerned his broader business approach, rather than a statement made specifically about Loaded. They nevertheless provide context for a release that shares billing with a major American rapper.

DancehallMag’s October 9 report describes the pairing as a meeting between McGregor’s reggae background and Ross’s established rap presence. HotNewHipHop also covered the release that day, listing its genre as hip-hop.

That classification gives Jamaican listeners a useful starting point: Loaded is a crossover collaboration, and McGregor’s involvement does not automatically make it a traditional dancehall juggling track.

The distinction matters in an industry where a producer can work across several sounds while retaining a recognisable musical identity. Here, the shared artiste credit puts McGregor in view alongside Ross, rather than leaving his name solely in the production credits.

The release also offers a fresh point of entry into McGregor’s work. His July project, Riddim 91, assembled performers including Beenie Man, Junior Reid, Etana and Duane Stephenson, according to DancehallMag’s earlier report.

Loaded now places a different partnership on the table. Its arrival is confirmed by the digital listing; how far the record travels will be determined by what follows its opening weekend.
