Westmoreland man stabs ‘matey’, now on the run

A Westmoreland man is now on the run following the killing of his woman’s ex-lover in Grange Hill, Morgan’s Bridge, Westmoreland yesterday.

The ex-lover, 38-year-old Ian Salmon, was stabbed to death when he visited a son he had with the woman, police are reporting.

Reports reaching Observer Online are that about 11:00 am, the ex-lover went to see his son. Police said while there, he was reportedly attacked and stabbed several times.

Salmon was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the 43-year-old boyfriend fled the scene after the incident and is currently being sought by the authorities.

The police are trying to determine the reason for the attack.
