Skip Marley grabs third NAACP image award nomination

SKIP MARLEY

Skip Marley is giving thanks after his hot single, ‘In Our Sight’, was nominated for Outstanding International Song at the 57th NAACP Image Awards.

“Give thanks for the nomination @naacp 🙏🏾 We gotta keep on believing,” Skip shared, along with the hashtag #InOurSight.

Support also poured in from his uncle Ziggy Marley, who commented, “yeah skippa ❤️.”

Voting closes February 7 at 12:00 a.m. ET, ahead of the NAACP Image Awards telecast on Saturday, February 28.

His 2025 single, In Our Sight, is a contender for ‘Outstanding International Song,’ alongside Tyla’s Is It, Burna Boy’s Love, Davido’s With You (with Omah Lay), and Tiwa Savage’s You 4 Me.

Produced by the multi-platinum Supa Dups, the track features a familiar guitar intro originally from Al Green’s Love and Happiness (1972). This riff became a staple of Jamaican sound systems via the Westbound Train riddim, a foundation that famously backed several reggae giants, including Dennis Brown on the iconic title track.
