
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) was notified and responded to commence independent investigations into the circumstances of a police operation along Comfort Road in Clarendon on March 6. The incident resulted in the fatal shooting of three men and the shooting injury of a fourth man. The deceased men have been identified as 27 year old, Michael Pinnock; 35 year old, Dean Williams and Rushane Lynch.
Six persons have been fatally shot by the Security Forces during the month of March, bringing the year-to-date total to fifty-four (54) persons shot and killed in 2026.
The police reported that a team of twelve officers (12) conducted an intelligence driven operation to intercept a motor vehicle. According to the police, the vehicle was instructed to stop, and its occupants allegedly discharged firearms at the police team. Several officers reported that they fired their service weapons in response. Following the incident, three men were observed inside the vehicle with gunshot injuries, and were subsequently pronounced dead. The police further reported that a fourth man who allegedly escaped from the incident scene, later attended a hospital for treatment for gunshot injuries.
