“I haven’t had a chance to see the film yet, but I know it sold out in Atlanta and New York, and the director told me it would not be showing anywhere else in the world until the premiere in December at Carib. I heard that the film is amazing,” she said.
The film features some of Jamaica’s most talented actors, including Paul Campbell, Mykal Fax and Roger Williams. Also included in the cast is dancehall artiste D’ Angel, who will be making her movie debut with a supporting role. She plays Robin, girlfriend of one of the high-profile gangsters.
Many fans have been waiting with bated breath for the release of the movie. The NY premiere was set to kick off on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Sunrise Multiplex Cinemas, Green Acres Mall, NY.
“The first one was so overcrowded, they had to reschedule it, but I couldn’t attend the viewing in Atlanta because I was touring the UK at the time,” she said.
D’Angel says that she has been approached for other roles based on her strong performance as ‘Robin’ in the movie.
“There have been some other developments since the movie came out, and there are other things in the works, because of the great reviews I have been getting for my role, and these opportunities are aligned with what I want to do, so I am excited right now…Hollywood here I come,” an ecstatic D’Angel said.
