Somewhere, Bob Marley, the quintessential rude bwoy, would be very proud. The reggae icon’s grandson, Matthew Pendergast will be tried today in the High Court Division of the Gun Court. The charges against Prendergast, son of Sharon Marley and FIFA referee instructor Peter Prendergast, resulted from an altercation with a security guard at the Bob Marley Museum on Hope Road in St Andrew.

Reggae singers Chronixx and Tarrus Riley, deejays Alkaline, Popcaan and the UK-based Stylo G are nominees for the Best Reggae Act at this year’s MOBO Awards.

Good morning chronixx…you’re smiling! No…I’m laughing. I’m laughing at the Jamaica government! And the poor people who applaud them and hang orange and green flags outside their board houses and on trees planted on “capture land”! I’m laughing at this dumb government who have never erected a live music venue in honor of reggae music even though it is the only reason why people is still visiting this beautiful island of bankruptcy…I’m laughing because I know something that “they don’t know”. Miss Hanna and Mr…I can never remember his name.

Heavyweight producer Justus Arison has launched a scathing attack on his rival, selector Oneil ‘Foota Hype’ Thomas.

“If me is nobody then what is foota hype? Me nah discredit the one and two likkle tings him do in the streets but him neva make music history yet. Him can’t even select good a mostly chat and stylings him use. Nobody nuh know him or him work outside a Jamaica,” Justus Arison, producer of the internationally acclaimed Overproof riddim, said.

Arison was referring to a televsion interview aired recently during which Foota Hype dismissed Arison as a ‘nobody’ because he had been the producer of ‘Restraining Order’, ishawna’s single on the High Life riddim. The song has choice phrases that appear to diss directly diss Foota Hype.
