Schoolgirl's throat slashed during fight with other girl

Two schoolgirls were involved in an altercation at a gas station on Brunswick Avenue in St. Catherine earlier this week. One of the schoolgirls is now hospitalised after her throat was cut during the altercation. The police have arrested a 16 year-old minor in relation to the incident. The victim has been hospitalised and is recuperating.   

 

The police report that there was an altercation on June 20th which began at about 12:20 p.m. on the school compound of a popular high school in Spanish Town. At about 2:15 p.m., the altercation continued on Brunswick Avenue in the vicinity of the gas station. The accused, a 16 year-old minor, slashed the complainant's throat and also cut the complainant's hand. 

"The complainant held onto the knife while her throat was being cut," a representative of the Constabulary Communication Unit told Loop News, 

The complainant received assistance from a passing police unit which took her to the hospital where she was treated. The accused was later bailed and will appear in the Portmore Juvenile Court on Thursday, June 28th.
