Corey Todd, a popular businessman and entertainment promoter, was arrested and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm on Wednesday.

Under the Offences Against the Person Act, a person convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm can be imprisoned for up to three years, with or without hard labour.

Todd was arrested in connection with an incident in which recording artiste Devin Di Dakta was alleged to have been assaulted at one of the businessman's nightclubs.

Todd, along with his cronies, is accused of assaulting the 2015 Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall winner at the Taboo Nightclub in January. The alleged assault is believed to have been the result of a 'diss' song aimed at Todd.

Todd is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court next Wednesday.
