TROPICAL STORM WARNING FOR JAMAICA

Is Jamaica ready for a tropical storm? Ready or not, a tropical storm that has already claimed six lives is barrelling towards Jamaica, packing muscular winds and torrential rain. The tropical storm watch that was earlier issued for Jamaica has now been upgraded to a warning as tropical storm conditions, including possible sustained wind speeds of 63-118 km/h, are expected to affect the island in 36 hours or less.  

Dancehall personality Marvin aka The Beast hopes that the charges against him will be dismissed when he appears in the St. James Parish court on August 3rd because of a lack of evidence to support "trumped up charges". Marvin said his lawyer will be moving to have the case dismissed. 

Kalado charged with assaulting a woman

Thirty-one-year-old Eton Gordon, popularly known as Kalado, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way-Tree on Wednesday.

The New York launch is significant, as it coincides with the celebration of Jamaica’s 54th anniversary of independence and just in time for the fans and well-wishers of Jamaica’s Olympic team to Rio 2016. The launch will be hosted by Country Kitchen Restaurant in Pelham Manor from 4pm – 10pm where all Olympic gear will be made available for sale.
