Dancehall artiste Wayne Marshall, who has embraced a more spiritual side in his music recently, is praying that his father makes a full recovery after the elder Mitchell suffered a  heart attack today. 

A post to the singer's Instagram page stated: "Please help me and my family send up prayers and positive energy for my father who suffered a massive heart attack and is now fighting in the hospital. He is my general, confidant (sic), best friend, advisor, biggest supporter, life coach and teacher. He is everything to me. We love him dearly. I thank the medical team for the effort and support. We staying positive because the major part of the battle is in God hands and not mans(sic). Stay up Dad!"


He is most notable for his collaborations with Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man and Beenie Man. He has a hit song called 'Messing with My Heart' featuring Mavado. He also attended the Wolmer's Boys' School for Boys and married fellow reggae/dancehall artist Tami Chynn in 2009. He recently scored a gospel-flavoured hit, 'Glory to God', which has racked up over 500,000 hits during the last two months.
