Congratulations are in order for the Reggae Girls who qualified for the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France after beating Panama on penalties a short while ago. Jamaica is the first Caribbean country to have both women's and men's team qualify for the World Cup.

Jamaica won the third-place playoff match at the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship at the Toyota Stadium in Texas this evening, joining United States and Canada as the three Concacaf teams  that automatically qualify for next summer’s 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

The teams had battled to a 2-2 draw at the end of full and extra time, with Panama coming back twice to force the penalty shootout. The senior Reggae Girlz team once again required a big effort from goalkeeper Sydney Schneider, whose tournament heroic had been crucial in the Concacaf Women's Championship game Monday.
