Musicologist Tony Laing passed away at the Pines Nursing Home at the St Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday. He was 68.

A strident advocate for a proper copyright system in Jamaica, especially for musicians, Laing had been ailing for some time.
He suffered a massive stroke in 2006, severely limiting his movement.
