
Music label owner Nyron Erickson, proprietor of West Bank Records, was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting at Freshwater Pond on the western end of Tortola on Saturday, May 10, 2025, has been identified as Nyron A. Erickson.
Mr Erickson, 32, was reportedly riding a scooter when he came under fire. According to reports, the shooter used an automatic assault firearm.
People in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots.
The shooting took place in the vicinity of a gas station and wash bay around 3:00 PM.
Erickson was pronounced dead on the scene.
Erickson was extradited to the United States on February 27, 2023, to face charges of conspiracy to launder monetary funds from outside the USA and unlawfully transporting the funds into the USA.
He was; however, subsequently allowed to walk free after prosecutors moved to dismiss the indictment due to insufficient evidence.
On his return to the Virgin Islands on September 20, 2023, however, Erickson was re-arrested and a total of twenty-one charges were laid before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 25, 2023, against him.
Erickson was initially denied bail, but after strong legal representation from high-profile Jamaican attorney Mr Hugh Wildman, he was given bail.
