A member of Droop Lion’s entourage was stabbed during a dispute with another man recently at the Mixing Lab studio in Half Way Tree. An altercation developed after a man reportedly dissed Droop Lion, with an insult which suggested that ‘yu caan turn a dawg into a lion’, a veiled reference to the decision that Droop Lion made four years ago to rechristen himself as Droop Lion, dropping the original Droop Dawg.

Reggae-dancehall artiste Black Queen has recorded a fast-tempo love song called ‘Love You Long Time’ that appears to reveal a lot about her personal life, with references to a young marriage at age 18 and a love that has defined her life.

“I felt motivated to write the song to show that you can have a good experience with a man and carry the great memories with you. I know the love of a good man, I will always love and respect that man, and I just wanted to express that in a song,” she said.
