The second season of Benzly Hype's critically acclaimed comedy 'Mi and Mi Kru' kicked off on television last night.

"The new season is a fresh and aimed at pop culture in Jamaica and the world, and we are getting great feedback from it, I don't know what the numbers are yet, but I am excited about the new season," he said.

There have been a few changes in the cast because of the availability of key actors.

"Mr Weddy was changed and Officer Varanga, but all the other major cast is still in effect. There is a new director it was directed By Kurt Wright, a talented genius, and who I would say is one of the best young directors in Jamaica right now. The script was written by Tenile Warren and produced by Tanya Taylor," Benzly Hype said.

The Mi and Mi Kru sitcom is loosely based on Benzly Hype's life and the sophomore season will feature many plot twists and turns.

"As you know, it is based on on my life story in the music biz and on the idea that I won the lottery
we did a little change in cast as some of them were not available at the time of shooting, but the chemistry is still great and the public can look forward to many laughs and good times during this new season," he said.

This year's cast includes: Benzly Hype, Audrey Reid, Everaldo Creary, Professor Nuts, Mackmilli, Fabian Thomas, Candace Buchanan.

Benzly Hype said that there is a great demand for Jamaican material in overseas market and he scored a major coup earlier this year when he negotiated a deal to get Mi and Mi Kru in Africa.

"The show is now in Arica on Mnet which broadcast to over 4 million viewers, and there are a number of other deals on the table for the Caribbean and the ethnic markets in the US. My lawyers are looking over the contracts now."
