Sweden-based reggae artiste Short Ghad released a video for his popular single, 'Feel Nice', this month to rave reviews from dancehall fans in Sweden and other parts of Europe.
"The response to the 'Feel Nice' video has been excellent so far as it has been added to several Youtube channels in Europe. The song continues to do well on Internet radio stations and the club scene in Sweden, and is just starting to pick up in terms of rotation in Jamaica," Short Ghad, whose real name is Conrad Williams, said.
The single, which was released on his own Short Ghad Entertainment label, was mixed and mastered by
prolific producer Australian Simon Howden of High Stakes Records, who is known for his work with top flight dancehall star Vybz Kartel.
Short Ghad first made his name as a selector in Jamaica, and is happy with his transition towards being an artiste.
"I am not only a disc jockey, but an artiste as well, and I am spending more time writing songs and developing my craft," he said.
Short Ghad grew up in St. Elizabeth, where he attended BB Coke High school in Junction. Once he left high school, he became known as DJ Rizzle aka Short Ghad started playing in clubs in the parish. He moved to St. Thomas where he built his reputation as a selector at various pool parties and events, before moving to live in Portmore. While in Portmore, he became more immersed in the behind the scenes aspect of the music industry, and became a road manager for artistes Jonnah and Jahbouks of 'Angola' fame.
He migrated to Sweden in 2014 and started to experiment more with the music. He honed his craft performing at bars and clubs in Stockolm, Sweden. Now he is ready to take it to the next level.
"I was known for dropping hot mixes, I want to be known for dropping out songs. This video, which was shot by Rasta Yard, Jamaican video directors based in Italy, and will be released this month. 2018 is the year I make it happen," he said.
