Now it seems one of those stars, incarcerated rhyme merchant Shawn Storm, is paying the favour forward and signing an artiste of his own, Likkle Miss, to his Kwashawna Records label.
The bubbly 14 year old, Trishawna Mackailla Grant, was introduced to the world through the single, 'Party Will We Die' , a collaboration with dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel which racked up thousands of hits worldwide.
Born on December 10th, the soulful Sagittarius was raised by mom, Dennisha Davis in Spring Garden, Kensington community of St. James. She attended Salvation Army Basic school, Barracks Road Primary and is now a student of Irwin High school.
"My goal is to become a successful musician who sings uplifting songs to inspire and empower females, especially teens, so that they can strive and push towards great accomplishments in the face of adversity," she said.
Asked what is her philosophy on life, she responded: "Only the best is good enough."
She is slated to release two singles, 'Your Song' and 'Taxi' during this year's Christmas season.
In a statement issued through his legal team, Kwashawna Records CEO Shawn Campbell said:
"Likkle Miss is the true definition of a diamond in the rough. She is only 14 and she has the voice of a dancehall superstar. I decided to sign Likkle Miss to my record label Kwashawna records and to put her talent to the world because of her incredible potential. Although she is young, Likkle Miss is a singer to reckon with and her music and her unique voice will make a mark in dancehall," he said.
