Reggae-dancehall firebrand Ras Myrhdak a.k.a Di First King is ruffling feathers with his new single, Chant Rastaman Chant, which blasts several entertainers including Tarrus Riley, Busy Signal, Mr. Lexx and even members of the political establishment.
“Everybody ah say the same thing, Summer done, Beenie and everybody ah say the ting shot. Ah just fire mi a bun, everybody feel it, people say Chant Rastaman Chant and the T Shirt and Watch shot, the fire ah volcano, like when Capleton ah buss wid the fire,” Ras Myrdhak said in a release. The riddim for the single was conceptualized by Sukku from Ward 21 for KDL Music operated by Jah Breeze of kingstondubplateslink.com fame. “Right now, to the reaction, I am going straight to video, mi nuh fraid fi talk the truth, the youtube have a more hardcore version called Tobungo, and that ah create havoc, but the cleaner version ah play pon the radio, DJ Wayne, and Sunshine and Big A ah gimme a real strength,” he said. Ras Myrhdak shot a video for another single, T Shirt and Watch, earlier this week in St Ann. Next week, he will be shooting a video for ‘Chant Rastaman Chant’. “The T Shirt and Watch video mad, X6 and yacht, mi a look a red turban with a red Range Rover fi complete the look. Born March 3, 1977, Ras Myrhdak hails from Linton Park Browns Town, St. Ann, a parish known for reggae greats such as Bob Marley, Burning Spear , Max Romeo, and Ernie Smith. He has worked with some great producers such as King Jammys, Bobby Digital, Kings of Kings, Mixing Magic Finga Stewart and Gemtar Production. These associations accredited him with more than 30 singles released. Some of his hit songs include “Blazer” which went to #1 on several charts, and “Heights & Pray” on the Breath A Fyah Riddim; “Samsung” and “Warriah Nuh Fraid” on the Double Kick Riddim; both produced by Blaque Warriahs Productions. The great success of these singles, brought him on the scene full-force where he linked with Annetta Brewster-Aitken, his manager at that time, who really believed in him. They parted ways several years later but maintained a good relationship. Now, he is back in the business with a bang. “Right now, mi ready fi a next number one,” he said
