Ras Moses will once again grace the Western Consciousness stage as the annual reggae show celebrates its 21st staging at Paradise Park, Sav-la-mar, Westmoreland.

Launched last night at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, the event strives to celebrate the best in reggae music. The show will be held under the theme, "The Celebration of Good Over Evil' this year.

Worrell King, who stages the event, said that this year he strove to express a love for dancehall.

"We don't hate dancehall because that's where it all started...dancehall can be a positive tool for growth," King told the audience.

This year, the controversial Bounty Killer will grace the stage for the first time.

"For the first time, we're having him on the show and we want to show Jamaica that there is a positiveness
in him....we will be celebrating Rodney Price at Western Consciousness," he said.

Other acts who will perform include I Octane, Tanya Stephens, Harry Toddler, D'Angel, Lutan Fyah, Romain Virgo and Freddie McGregor.

Manager Copeland Forbes and dub poet Mutabaruka will be honoured at this year's Western Consciousness
for their sterling contributions to reggae music.
