Dancehall personality Marvin aka The Beast hopes that the charges against him will be dismissed when he appears in the St. James Parish court on August 3rd because of a lack of evidence to support "trumped up charges". Marvin said his lawyer will be moving to have the case dismissed.

"I was not even aware that any complaints had been made against me because the incident happened months ago where I was dancing with a lady in a party and everybody start share the video. I don't even know that a report was made to the police," .Marvin, whose given name is Everton Song, said.

After performing at Reggae Sumfest, he was detained at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay, St James on Friday night. ,After holding him for two days, the police charged Marvin with malicious destruction of property, and booked him to appear in the St James Parish Court on August 3.

"The charges are not real, I just have to go to court and see what they are saying but they are just trying to persecute me because of what happened months ago, my lawyer is going to try to get the charges dropped," he said.
