The long standing feud between dancehall Warlord Bounty Killer and New York based Irie Jam Radio is now over. Station executives have long content that Bounty's decision to walk off stage at the 2004 staging of Irie Jamboree was irresponsible and nearly caused a melee at the park had it not been for the quick action of the police to restore calm after bottles were pelted on stage.

The truce between between the feuding parties was called during a radio tribute to honor the life and legacy of deceased VP Records producer, Joel Chin that aired on 93.5 FM in New York on Saturday, August 20.

"Everyone knows the vibes between Bounty Killer and the Irie Jam family" radio host DJ Roy told listeners moments before Bounty came on air. "Joel Chin said to us when the little vibes started (in 2004) that if it is the last thing he does, he will make sure that Irie Jam and Bounty Killer are cool again, so it is fitting that you are on radio here today."

When asked by Dub Master Chris whether Irie Jam Radio and Bounty Killer could be cool again?, the Killer was pointed in his response.

"This is cool, this sounds cool and we are not doing anything for publicity right now" Bounty responded. "This is something sincere with me. It is not a face card. This is real."

Bounty, who paid tribute to Joel and the important role he played in the development of his career during the interview, also acknowledged Irie Jam's role in the success he has attained over the years.

"Irie Jam Radio is a developer of my career especially DJ Roy" Bounty said. "Which other radio station am I gonna be affiliated with over 15 years in NY now? It is not gonna happen" he said.

The end of Bounty's feud with the station comes on the heels of his truce last year with Beenieman. Bounty shocked fans at the Guinness Summer Eclipse at The Jungle in Negril last year August, when he called up his arch nemesis to join him on stage. The two delivered an entertaining set that included a plethora of hit songs dating back to Beenie’s Memories and Bounty’s Riding West which were recorded in the early 1990's.

Two months later, Bounty ended his feud with long time friend and protege Baby Cham, the two, reuniting on the dancehall mega hit “Stronger”  which featured singer Mykal Rose

As far as Bounty Killer and Irie Jam Radio working together again in the future, DJ Roy made the station's position very clear.

"Irie Jamboree will return in 2012 and I am saying it on the air. Bounty Killer, I would like you to be on Irie Jamboree 2012. I am saying it now so everybody in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut can hear."
