Saint Thomas, Jamaica, the birthplace of the Right Honorable Paul Bogle (one of Jamaica s national heroes) has a strong, colorful history. It is from here that Kimberley Ann-Terraza Lavinna Nicola Francis better known as Kim Wierdo hails.

Growing up in the country Kimberley enjoyed all that nature had to offer. She went to the river, picked mangos at mango bush, played football, marble etc. all with her brother with whom she had a very close relationship. Back then the thought of becoming a recording artist never entered her mind, she simply knew that she loved music and took the opportunity to enjoy it whenever possible. From time to time she would go to church to admire the choir as they sang; she also had a radio that she would use to listen to music and imitate the singers. And finally, she would be captivated by the performance of her grandmother whenever she belted out a tune. Once Kimberley finished school however, she decided to relocate to Kingston as it was now time for her to grow up and look for work. It is in Kingston, St. Andrew that her life was forever changed through music.

In Kingston, Kimberleys focus was on working which she did as waitress while studying to become an Esthetician (someone who specializes in the beautification of the skin). When she was not working or studying, Kim would be at the hottest party in town. She soon began to call herself Kim Wierdo. The name was adopted because all of her life everyone, including her very own mother, always felt that there was something different about her.

In the summer of 2012 at ATI (a popular event that happens every year in Jamaica), a friend introduced her to a young man named Faice who insisted that she recorded a track with him. Though he never heard any songs from her the image she presented was that of an artist and he was sure that the track would be good. Kim Wierdo agreed and it was right then and there that her journey into the music industry officially began. The song was called let me in and it created enough buzz to capture the attention of key persons within the business.

As she is now busy working on her first full length album, Kim Wierdo is very careful not to limit her musical abilities by branding herself as a particular type of artist unique to a specific genre. Instead she remains very open as she pulls inspiration from feelings built up inside and writes about things she has experienced personally. Some artists that Kim Wierdo enjoys listening to are; Pink, Black Veil Brides, Avril Lavigne, Lauren Hill, Evanessence, Florence, Hatebreed, Lady Saw, Tanya Stephens etc.

Kim Wierdo is producing her album with assistance from Ricardo Red Boom Reid, one of Jamaicas most respected producers. Some of the tracks already recorded are dah good good yah, mama hold on, breakdown my walls, musiq, why my heart, murda love, shake and try so hard (talk to the walls). Though no official release date has been given for the album, Kim Wierdo and her team are hoping to have everything ready by the end of 2013. In the mean time they will be releasing singles from the project, the first being mama which will be out by the end of August.
