A successful girl group has never quite made the grade in the male-dominated Dancehall and Reggae world, but four hot and talented young girls from Kingston, Jamaica, intend to turn that on its head with their unique package of visuals, music and movement. Four strong and very different personalities make up the group called KGN 21 and they are ready to explode.

Sashe, Kerise and sisters Kuchi and Sheena, who hail from some of the toughest parts of Kingston, are taking a no-nonsense approach to their music, the business and life itself.

"We're all about girl power," says Kuchi. "We represent the new generation of females and our music reflects that. We're all about fun, independence and portraying a positive, powerful image for all the females out there, with plenty of eye candy for the guys too! We like to show our sexy side but in a tasteful way."

"Kingston's zip codes only go up to 20," explains Sashe regarding the group's moniker. "But we have our eyes set on the rest of the world too, so we thought KGN 21 was an appropriate name."

"And in Cashpot the number 21 represents bad girls!" chimed in Kerise. "We coming with the full package - dancing, singing and attitude, y'all ready fi di ride?"

Their debut single "Boom Boom," produced by Grammy-winning legends Sly & Robbie, announces their intentions in no uncertain terms. A catchy, poppy hook laced with hardcore Jamaican spice, "Boom Boom" got its worldwide premiere via US mainstream radio, courtesy of Nikki Z on her primetime morning slot on HOT 93.7 FM. Locally IRIE FM's DJ Sunshine and ZIP Jock Sparks have been showing the single a lot of love already.

"Its great that all the female radio disc jockeys are feeling the record," says Kerise. "Our management team gave it to them first as we are all about strength and unity for the women in the business and the response has been even better than we hoped for."

KGN 21 are shooting the video for Boom Boom this week and the single will be available on iTunes and all digital outlets on February 8. Individual
