A Jamaican born reggae-dancehall deejay living in California has emerged on the scene sounding a lot like dancehall entertainer Konshens.

Jay-5, who is making the rounds on the dancehall reggae scene in Cali, says though Konshen is NOT one of his musical influences, the Konz876 CEO is the very first major artist who provided him with a platform to showcase his talent. Jay-5 is working with renowned dancehall deejay and actor Spragga Benz and his Red Square crew.

Jay-5 says “My musical relationship with Spragga Benz and his Red Square family created platforms that propelled him to perform on international events sharing the stage with the likes of rapper Foxy Brown, Kymani Marley son of reggae legend Bob Marley, Beenie Man, Gyptian, Warrior King, Konshens and Spragga Benz among a host of others.”

The dancehall deejay is currently promoting the singles “Shake It Senorita”, “Father God” and Tun Ova” all produced by Minto Pierre (MPR).

In 2003, Jay-5 relocated to Los Angeles, California to further pursue his career in entertainment.
