International recording artiste Empire I  landed a successful placement in HBO's popular comedy series, 'Girls', with her single, 'Get Up On It', being used in the promotional ads for the upcoming season starting February 24th 2016 (Clink the link at ).
"It's a great achievement for me because my song was chosen out of possibly thousands of others, and I have great respect for Lena Dunham, who is the writer of the show, and the message of the show resonates with me, that is reaping for the ladies, holding it down internationally and from a female perspective," Empire I said.
She described 'Girls' as a show created for the "millennial nouveau female, a sort of modern 'Sex and the City". HBO's 'Girls' is a comedy-drama following a close group of twenty-somethings living in New York City. The show's premise and major aspects of the main character were drawn from 29-year-old Dunham's own life.
"My song reflects the premise of the show, that is, not only men, but women can run things and that women also have power," she said.
Empire I has had song placements in numerous network and cable shows and her music has been used in advertisements for Cover Girl makeup featuring Queen Latifah and Drew Barrymore. Movies and videos games are all on her long list of collaborations with her catalogue.
Once known as Empire Isis, she has has decided to drop the 'Isis' part of her stage name and rebrand into the new year.
"Its time to drop the 'Isis' part of my name given recent developments in international geo-politics," she said about the now controversial moniker.
"My name is inspired by the Egyptian Goddess Isis and my North African roots, asides from the fact that thousands of girls around the world are named Isis and can't change their names. I pray that a band of thugs will not take away from these girls the true beauty and sacredness of the meaning of their names."
The 'band of thugs'  is a reference to the self-proclaimed Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, the terrorist group that controls vast swaths of territory in Irag and Syria and Iraq, and more recently, stoked violent acts in Ankara, Beirut, Paris and San Bernardino, California.
Watch out for Empire I new video for the single "Confidence" on the Cartwheel Riddim coming in 2016.
