It is a rare thing when an entertainer announces his final album. Will it be a Jay Z moment where he will change his mind and do another because of commercial pressures, or will he just deliver a final magnus opus and ride off into the sunset forever? Well, Barrington Levy said that he is calling it quits after 35 years in the business and numerous reggae classics.

Barrington Levy's final album will be called It's About Time that will feature several collaborations with local and international artistes such as Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and Jadakiss.

Levy also recently teamed with Vybz Kartel and Khago on the track Gangsters, which is the soundtrack for an upcoming movie Gangstas in which he plays a lead role. He spoke of how the collaboration came about saying, "I did the song in Philadelphia and after I finished my hook, then I said, who we going have on the song? We said Kartel, and Khago is showing that he's a good artiste, so they were perfect."

Levy's biggest song is arguably the crossover hit "Here I Come", which reached number 41 in the UK Singles Chart in 1985. "Here I Come" returned to the charts in 2001, with a new version by Levy and Talisman P reaching number 37 in the UK.
