Jamaican rapper Face Dada is on a musical mission to create and establish a local Hip Hop movement. The talented young man who grew up in New York City is determined to achieve this goal in the not too distant future.

“I can’t stop and I won’t stop, I just have to make it happen, I have to create a Jamaican hip hop movement, hip hop and rap evolved from Jamaican music. Jamaicans started the hip hop movement in the US, so why can’t we do it here too? I know a lot of people look at local rappers and scoff at the idea of Jamaican artists doing hip hop but not everyone has to do reggae or dancehall, I am Jamaican and rap is my medium of musical expression and I do it well.”

Face Dada and his management team recently launched an island-wide street campaign to promote his music right across the island. The street campaign which began in Kingston saw the rapper and members of his BDCG Entertainment team making stops in the main towns of several parishes including St. Catherine, St Ann, Westmoreland, Hanover, St. James and St. Elizabeth. During these stops they gave out promotional CDs, posters and specially designed Face Dada T Shirts.

The artist said the street campaign has been highly successful so far and will be completed in few weeks’ time as he plans to visit several other parts of the island that he has not been to as yet.

“We just launched the Face Dada street campaign; so far it has been very successful. We have been to several towns all over Jamaica, meeting and greeting with the people and sharing the music with them. The response has been very good, everywhere we go the people are really feeling the vibes, they love my music a lot. We still have some other places to go, so we will be hitting the streets in the coming weeks as we continue to take the music to the people.”

During the campaign Face also squeezed in a few performances, he performed at a concert for the kids at the Holy Rosary primary School on Winward road.

His hit singled titled Ghetto is currently blowing up FM radio. Its accompanying music video is also receiving strong rotation.Jamaican rapper Face Dada is on a musical mission to create and establish a local Hip Hop movement.
