Woman Constable chopped to death

Woman District Constable Mellissa Edwards- Whyte, who was assigned to Crime Stop, chopped to death during a domestic dispute at her home at about 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 29.

“It is unfortunate that domestic violence has robbed us of another promising talent, Woman District Constable Mellissa Edwards-Whyte was met with such cruelty and callousness and no effort will be spared in bringing closure to this matter,” Commissioner Anderson said in expressing his condolences.


In the meantime, the Chaplaincy and Community Safety and Security Branch has been instructed to provide all the necessary support to colleagues and friends of Edwards-Whyte.


Anderson is also reminding members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to use available resources namely, the Chaplaincy and Medical Services Branch to help through domestic and other issues which impact their emotional, psychological and physical well-being.
