The police have apprehended a 22 year old male suspect in the grisly murder of fashion designer and stylist Dexter Pottinger.

The police believe that the young man was the house of the deceased by invitation. There was no sign of forced entry and they had been in friendly conversation. The police also recovered a television from the suspect.

"Pottinger had bailed the suspect, who was on a minor charge, on Tuesday . The suspect has told investigators that he was at Pottinger's home cutting up weed when the deceased made sexual advances on him and he responded by defending himself," the police source said.

On Thursday evening, Pottinger's  2017 Honda CRV was found in Stony Hill, St Andrew. Pottinger's body was reportedly found by his brother and a friend at his Yurico Place home in Washington Gardens about 4:00 pm yesterday after they went in search of him when he missed a scheduled shoot and efforts to reach him proved futile. They found the shower running and Dexter's body in a pool of blood. He had been stabbed four times and shot once in the face, anecdotal reports indicated.

Family and friends of the make-up artist and former model, who visited the scene last evening, were overheard saying that his two iPhone 7s were also missing from the house. Neighbours told the police they heard him screaming for help about 4:30 Wednesday morning.
