The streets are talking about a grimy collaboration between dancehall superstars Vybz Kartel and Masicka dubbed 'Infrared' that is blowing up all over social media. The song signals a new age in dancehall and a shift in power relations. Why? Because a Genayside-Gaza link up has flipped the Dancehall Game on its ear.

Recorded on a dark dancehall riddim, the song has racked up over 300,000 views in only one day since its release. Vybz Kartel delivers a hard-hitting chorus while Masicka shows his lyrical dexterity on the verses.

Produced by TJ Records, the song is easily regarded as the hottest song in Jamaica, given the enthusiastic response on Twitter and Facebook.

Vybz Kartel spits fire on the chorus, deejaying: “My dog them affi live / Mi dogs them affi live / F*** a bag a gal inna dem hole / And who no like how we a live / Point infrared pon him forehead, marrow fly go foreign, empty the Bryco pan him” .

The Genayside Boss Masicka kicks off the first verse with his usual sick flow. “We deh ya pon the block, nutten change matic in a lap / Spiff wrap Henne pon the rock a watch me enemy a flop / Pu*** them a carry belly fi the pot / Buss yu lickle jelly cause yu act like say yu carry frock.”

On the second verse, Masicka name-checks firearms and deejays about dropping bodies on the street.

This marks the first collaboration between Vybz Kartel and Masicka who are fans of each other's music. This link up is made even more interesting by the fact that Kartel’s former business partner Corey Todd is also managing Masicka.
