Outaroad Records artiste Ikaya is pleased with the feedback to her performance on this year's Reggae Sumfest show where she made her well anticipated debut in front of a huge crowd at the muddy Catherine Hall venue.
"I felt really great about my performance, I got a lot of positive
feedback about my whole set with the dancers, the costume changes, and
my delivery, it was really tight and well co-ordinated. The work put
in by my management team, Outaroad Records, is really paying off," she
said in a release.
Ikaya recently recorded a slew of new singles which will be hitting
the streets soon, inlcuding the popular Best Wine on the Hold U
riddim. She also a pair of music videos, one of which Best Wine
(Tightest Grip) is also in rotation on HYPE, RE and CVM. The other,
which showcases her latest singles, Hard Way and These Tears, is also
slated for release soon.
"I have done some R & B influenced songs, and some one-drop stuff, so
everybody can look out for more great songs from me. Mi nah drop the
ting," she said with her trademark giggle.
Earlier this year, her hit single Good Up peaked at #4 on the the HYPE
TV charts while Money Ova Man also hit the top ten. Her sogns are
doing really well in St. Vincent and in Trinidad.
"My management team has been getting calls from the small islands
since my Reggae Sumfest performance, so my fans will soon get a chance
to see me live in action," she said.
Ikaya is the essence of crazy-sexy-cool with her crisp clear vocals,
brilliantly conceived videos and immaculately tailored style. She is
leading the charge of a vanguard of hot new female stars that
