Big Dreams Productions is staking its claim as one of the emerging powerhouses in reggae music.

The label has produced rhythms that have successfully impacted the reggae music industry and produced artistes such as Lutan Fyah, Mr. Perfect, Esco Levy, Teflon, Bugle, Ras Ghandi among other established JamaicanrReggae artistes over the years. Now Big Dreams Productions is expanding into the area of artiste management.
The label recently signed production and development deals with talented artistes Karl Morrison, Ra Deal, Pedro and Dezi.
'We are on a mission, our aim is to develop in a major way, creating more opportunities and options for Reggae artistes in Jamaica," Big Dreams Productions chief executive officer Sikona 'Fadda Biggs' Blagrove, said.
According to the Big Dreams Productions CEO, the objective of Big Dreams Productions is to help broaden their voices through innovative and creative ways with today's technology and resources and find ways to connect these artistes effectively and efficiently with reggae audiences across the world. .
"Right now, Big Dreams is partnering with RSP Tunes, whose members are experienced A&R, whose role, although changed in today's industry, is critical to what we want to achieve," he continued.
Big Dreams Productions is a registered label at RSP Tunes, 227 Weir St., Hempstead New York, however, there is a Jamaican base located at Big Links in Kingston, Jamaica. The local studio base is operated by Engineer/Artiste Karl Morrison best known for the production of Busy Signal's remixed version of the Commodores 1982 title track from the Motown album of the same name, 'Night Shift' paying tribute to late soul singers Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson. Other studio Engineers at Big Dreams Productions includes Carnal Brisco, Avril Ashley, Rich Daley, Sergio and Jeff Deer who have composed rhythms such as Water Melon, Irish Spring, Dreams and Magnet & Steal. "Our first major project for 2013 is the promotion of the album, 'Born to be Free' for the artiste Ra Deal. The album is now available on iTunes, we will be shooting videos for the singles is High Grade and 'Private Party'. Everybody inna New York ethnic areas know dem tunes de," Blagrove, who grew up in Clarendon, said. Blagrove also hosts a radio programme called Lover's Choice Radio, and he said that the album has been generating an advance buzz among reggae lovers in the US. "I went to Connecticut to play on the station, Lover's Choice Radio, and mi play Dealer's album four times straight, the response has been phenomenal especially to 'Live Like a King', ah one of the biggest underground songs inna the reggae market," he said. Big Dreams Productions is also known for producing Kashu Man's 'Mi Amor'. "Ah da song da bring back Kashu Man inna the market," Blagrove said. Blagrove believes that greater emphasis needs to be focused on developing artistes before they are foisted on the public. "A&R stands for artist and repertoir. Traditionally that individual who would match up recording artists with songwriters, pick songs that would suit the artiste and pick artistes that would score hits for songwriters. Over the years their role has changed, and while they may still suggest songwriters and producers for artistes to work, with their main job in acting as the point of contact between the artiste, and their management, and the rest of the label infrastructure. That's what Jamaica needs, there is a void for that, and we are going to fill that void," he said. With only one major label catering to reggae, the attempt of Big Dreams Production to develop it's label in a major way will take time. However, Sikona Blagrove is adamant that he has the time and will remain focus until Big Dreams Productions is no longer a dream.
