A St Andrew man was yesterday killed and his suspected attacker shot dead by the police during an alleged confrontation on Yacca Avenue in Kingston 11.


The St Andrew man, 52-year-old Martin Royes of Yacca Avenue, was found by police who were in the area about 7:30 am and heard explosions. 

The Olympic Gardens police said that after hearing the explosions they went to investigate and were greeted with gunfire from the alleged gunman, 23-year-old Damion Campbell of Antigua Path, also in Kingston 11. 

The police said there was an exchange of gunfire and Campbell was shot dead.
