A man's complaints about the handling of his breakfast provoked his spouse to wrath  to the point where he found himself on the business end of a pot of boiling hot water.

The estranged couple appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates' court earlier this week, with the male complainant receiving burns and the other charged with unlawful wounding.

Allegations are that the accused, Delzine James, had an argument with her spouse Errol Edwards on September 1, 2015 around 6:30 a.m.

Edwards was not pleased with the handling of his breakfast which led James to throw hot water on him. He suffered burns to his neck and back.

RM Nembhard enquired of the accused if he was still suffering from the effects of the burns, to which Edwards replied: "Yes, your honour especially when I wear shirts because the wounds are open and I have to dress it daily but when I perspire and the sweat gets on it, it hurts."

However, Edwards also confirmed that "your honour despite what happened between Miss James and I, I still respect her and she is a good person so I want us to talk it out."

Edwards admitted that he was still involved with the accused.

They were later sent to mediation, and to return on February 23, 2016.
