Young reggae sensation Iba Mahr has scored a major achievement with his hit single, “Will I Wait in Vain” being featured on VP’s top selling release, Reggae Gold 2012.

“It is a great privilege and honour to be associated with this wonderful project and it represents a major step for me as an artiste to be included on this historic disc marking the 20th anniversary of the Reggae Gold series,” Iba Mahr said in a release.

The single was originally produced by Born Rollin’ Productions.

Iba Mahr’s “Will I Wait” single will join other chart-burners like Sean Paul’s latest single “She Doesn’t Mind,” red hot Popcaan’s “Only Man She Want“ on disc one. The disc will also include four newly commissioned exclusive songs including Busy Signal's “Kingston Town (Remix)” featuring Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, Tarrus Riley's "Not Missing You," Etana's "Reggae" and Gyptian's "Overtime."

Slated to be released on June 26th, the 20th edition of the best-selling annual reggae compilation Reggae Gold, will mark this achievement with a two disc set offering double the hits. The first disc carries on the Reggae Gold tradition with this year’s most popular reggae hits mentioned above. Disc 2 is a commemorative collection of Reggae Gold classic hits spanning the past two decades with heavyweight acts such as Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Bounty Killer, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Mr. Vegas, Sean Paul, Sizzla, T.O.K. and others.

As Iba Mahr’s unique authentic sound gains traction in the Caribbean and Europe, more producers have begun to send beats his way. One of his latest singles is My Day” that is gaining popularity in Germany, France and other parts of Europe. The single made it to the Various Artist album titled, Reggaeville Riddim,  produced by Oneness Records.

Another hot single is Burning on the Heart and Soul riddim for Notice Production which has been generating a lot of airplay in recent weeks.

“The feedback has been so incredible that my management team, and Born Rollin’ Production have decided to shoot a video for this single in the next couple of weeks,” Iba Mahr said.

The artiste will be busy overseas this Summer performing in The British Virgin Islands, and gigs in the USA. He will be one of the main acts on this year’s Little Ochie Seafood Festival, and this Saturday June 16th , he will perform at the acoustic-style Conscious Reggae Party at Tony’s Bar, 5 Chelsea Ave, New Kingston.
