The country's next general election will be held in December. However, the exact date is still unknown as Prime Minister Andrew Holness will announce that date at a mass meeting within the next few days.

The Jamaican public will have to wait a few more days to hear the announcement of the country's next general elections. Even after the ringing the symbolic party bell, Prime Minister Holness said he would not announce the date at the party's annual conference, but at a mass meeting.

"Now is the time for this generation to step up to the plate. The uncertainties can't follow us into the new year," he said.
